Jeffrey Stephenson, or slipperyskip as he's known on or forum, is one of
bit-tech's longest-standing modders. Thankfully, he's still hard at work churning out some of the best projects to grace our shores despite entering bit-tech's modding community nearly ten years ago - something that, sadly, not many of the old greats can attest to as life often tends to get in the way.
In fact, Jeffrey has so many fantastic projects to his name that we felt it only right to include several of them in
Mod Gods, which after all is just as much about praising the modder as it is ogling at various masterpieces. Jeffrey is a rare breed of modder that, rather than picking steel, aluminium or acrylic as their material of choice, actually uses wood as the primary material for his projects.
This is notoriously difficult to work with and end up with something that looks good, but this has never been an issue. His projects are works of art that have won the hearts not just of several members of the
bit-tech team, but of a whole raft of fans. Make sure you pop over to his
personal website that features a huge selection of his projects as there are far too many for us to list all of them here.
The project we'll look at first is Ingraham - (see the bit-tech feature
here) a streamlined modern take on a radio of yesteryear that lends its shape spectacularly well to a mini-ITX PC filled with small components. It's one of the most gorgeous mini-ITX scratchbuilds we've ever seen and was also featured in Mod of the Year a couple of years ago, gaining a top ten place.
Another massively popular project Jeffrey finished some time ago is Mid Century Madness (check out the full project log
here. It's a rare concept in that the actual PC case wasn't modded. Instead, Jeffrey made an exquisite-looking housing for it.
As a kind of follow-on to his Level Eleven project which you can see
over the page, Jeffrey began work on this project, called, Aerodyne, at the end of 2011, and it was completed earlier this year. If anything, it's even more good-looking than his Mod of the Year second place project, Level Eleven and you can see the full project log
here
